Essie Bobbing for Baubles and Lynnderella Shape Shifter

Good morning! I'm so sorry I haven't blogged in a few days. I guess I needed a tiny break. I'm back though! ;-) I hope you all had a good weekend. Did you do anything fun?

I have one of the new Essie winter polishes to show you today. It's called Bobbing for Baubles, and it's a smokey blue color. It leans more blue than grey, but the grey is def. there. It looks more blue in person, than it does in pics. You can def. see the grey in the pics. I took. Application was absolutely wonderful, and I really could have gotten away with one coat, but I still used two.

I got three more Lynnderella polishes last week, and decided to use one over Bobbing for Baubles. I used Shape Shifter. In one word, this polish is AWESOME! I love it! It's made up of lots of different silver glitter shapes and sizes. Some of the shapes are large holo hex glitter, med. hex, squares, bar glitter, stars, moons, flowers, diamonds, fine silver glitter, and I even found a butterfly shaped glitter in my bottle! It's basically a bottle of awesome! ;-) I used two coats of Shape Shifter over Bobbing for Baubles. I love this mani. so much that I still have it on, and I put it on, on Thurs. That's a long time for me, when I usually change my polish every day. :-)

First up, are pics. of both polishes together.

I found the Essie winter collection at Ulta, and I've also seen it at Target and Walgreens. I just bought this one polish from the collection, but I might go back for a couple more. ;-)

Have a great day! :-)

Orly Sea Gurl and Pure Ice Heartbreaker

Good afternoon! How is your day going? I'm procrastinating big time today! I need to clean the house and do laundry, and so far I've done everything but either of those! LOL! I hate cleaning! Ugh. I suppose I'll start on it, when I'm finished with this. Today, I have the last of the Orly Birds of a Feather collection that I got. I didn't end up getting two of them. Peachy Parrot is just way to frosty for my liking. Lucky Duck is a really pretty green, but it's pretty close to OPI Jade is the new Black. I'm trying to stay away from getting to many dupes. Anyway, the last one I have to show you is Sea Gurl. It's a dark gray base with lots of silver shimmer. It dries to a bit of a metallic look. This color reminds me of pencil lead! LOL! Silly, but it does. I could have gotten away with one coat, but I had a bit of an issue with brush strokes, so I used two. It's a nice color, but it's my least fav. out of the four I got.

Sorry these pics. are the greatest. It was a rainy day when I took these, yesterday.

I decided to jazz it up a bit, by putting a coat of Pure Ice Heartbreaker on top. It gave it a pretty green shimmer.

Well, I guess I will go get started on the cleaning. Try not to be too jealous! LOL! ;-)

BB Couture Ares.....and Baby Possums.

How has your Monday been? I sure had an interesting night, last night. About 12:30am I let the dogs out in the backyard one last time before bed. Well my lab spotted a possum in our yard, and took off after it. He picked it up in his mouth, and then put it down again. Thank goodness he didn't kill it. I got my dogs back up on our deck, and turned to see the possum run off. I kept hearing a really odd noise, so I went back to the spot, and saw three tiny baby possum's on the ground. :-( Now, I know lots of people just plain don't like possums. I, on the other hand, might possibly be one of the biggest animal lovers around. I can't stand to see any animal hurt in any way.

I absolutely couldn't leave those babies to die in my yard. I ran in the house to look online, to be certain that's what they were. It was. I grabbed some rubber gloves and a sweatshirt, ran back to the babies, and put them in the shirt. I took them in the house (to the laundry room)warmed up a rice bag and put that under the shirt to keep them warm. I had no idea what I was going to do with them. I called a 24 hr. emergency vet, and asked them what to do. Turns out they are part of Operation Wildlife as well, so they said they would take them. So, I put the rice bag, shirt, and babies in a shoebox, got in the car, and drove to the vet. They took them, and said they would take care of them until they were old enough to be released. Thank goodness! :-) I really hope the mom is okay, and that she had other babies with her. It makes me so sad that she lost her babies. :-( I read that they can have around 13 babies, so I'm hoping she still has some.

So that is my interesting story of the day. Pretty much everyone I know, says I should have gone to vet school. At one time, I really did want to be a vet. However, I just don't think I could take the bad stuff. I would really suffer. So, I try to do what I can when I can for animals. I always say, I was put on earth to care for animals. ;-)

Okay, I'll get to the polish now since this is a polish blog. ;-) This mani. is one I did a couple of weeks ago, and never got around to posting. It's one of the new Spring polishes, from the BB Couture for Men A Touch of Greece collection. It's called Ares. It's a smoky dark gray with lots of of silver micro shimmer. I LOVE this polish. I didn't have any problems with application, and I used two coats.

Here's a pic. of baby possums that look just like the babies I found last night. This isn't my pic. and I didn't take any, as I was just trying to make sure they would be okay. ;-)

I sure hope tonight isn't as eventful as last night! ;-)
