Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop

Happy pink Wed! :-) I have one of the newer Lippmann glitters to show you. Well, I say it's newer, but I guess it's been out since July. I swear, it seems like the last few months have flown by! It doesn't seem very long ago that it was July....and 110 degrees outside! I'm sure glad it's not that hot now though.

Anyway, Candy Shop is pretty much Happy Birthday with a med. pink base. It has small multicolored glitter, and multicolored hex glitter. It really does remind me of candy....like jawbreakers or gumballs.

I didn't have any problems with application at all. Sometimes with glitter polishes like this, they tend to be thick and goopey. This one wasn't like that at all. It was opaque in two coats, and dried fairly quickly.

I love pink, and I love glitter, so I ended up taking quite a few pics. That seems to happen a lot lately. ;-)

A few close up's.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you are having a great night! :-)

Matte Lippmann Glitter in The Air & China Glaze Empowerment

Happy Pink day! ;-) I can't believe it's already Wed! I've been slacking this week....sorry about that! I'm not sure why, as I have so many manis. to show you. Today's mani is of course, pink. I used Lippmann Glitter in The Air and China Glaze Empowerment. I know I've shown you both of these before, but not together. :-) Last time GITA was over a blue and Empowerment was worn on it's own. I quite like them together. ;-)

I started out with two coats of China Glaze Empowerment, which was part of the 2010 breast cancer collection. It's a med. pink cream. Application was great. I then added Lippmann Glitter in the Air. I LOVE this polish, but it's kind of a pain to work with. You really have to fish to get the glitter out. I ended up using three coats of it. I added a coat of Essie Matte About You, and I was done. :-)

The first three pics. are with the Matte top coat.

The next two pics. are without the Matte top coat.

Do you like it with or without the matte top coat best? As always, thanks for looking, and have a great day! :-)

My Birthday Mani!

Hey guys! :-) How are you today? I'm having an absolutely wonderful birthday! :-) I got lots of great polishes to show you soon. Today, I want to show you my birthday nails. This is going to be short, as I need to get ready for my b-day dinner with my family. That, and my computer is being REALLY slow today for some reason. Anyway, I have lots of pics. for you. ;-) (imagine that!)

I used Essie Flirty Fuchsia as my base. FF is a great neon pink....it is not fuchsia. lol! It applied well, and I used two coats. I then added one coat of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Candy. It's in a pinkish/clear base with orange and pink glitter. I then added one coat of Lippmann Happy Birthday. I love this polish! I will never get tired of it. It's kinda funny though.....I didn't realize that it had square glitter in it. It has different colored hex glitter, small round multi colored gliter, and multi colored square glitter. Finally I added different birthday nail stickers. I'm loving this mani. It's bright, sparkly and fun. :-)

First, up is the final mani....as usual, click the pics. to get a much better view. ;-)

With just Happy Birthday...

Lippmann Glitter in The Air!

Good morning! How has your week been? Mine has been okay, but I am SO ready for a vacation! lol! We have had the oddest weather this winter. For example last week, it was freezing, snowing and icing. In the same week, that cleared up, and it was 50. Then we had thunderstorms. Now this week it's been as high as 70 but we are supposed to get snow again. Ugh.

Today I have Lippmann Glitter in The Air to show you. I absolutely LOVE this polish. I've wanted it since I saw the first bottle pics. months ago. So when it came out, I ordered it right away. It reminds me of cotton candy. :-) In the bottle, Glitter in The Air looks like it has a light blue base. Once on the nail though, it's more of a milky color. It has hex size pink and baby blue glitter, with small size silver glitter through out. Since it's pretty sheer, I layered it over Hard Candy Sky. It was kind of a pain to get the glitter out, but so worth it. Normally I would have gotten annoyed with a polish like this, but this one is just too great to not love it...flaws and all. ;-)

I used three coats of GitA over two coats of Hard Candy Sky.

You should click on this second pic. it's my fav. and it really shows a true pic. of what GitA looks like outside in the light. ;-)

Do you have Glitter in The Air? If not do you want it? What do you think of it? You can find Glitter in The Air at Nordstroms and at www.lippmanncollection.com. Polishes retail for $18

Thanks for looking, and I hope you all have a great day! :-)

Lippmann Collection 'All That Jazz' Swatches!

Wow! Welcome to my new followers, and a HUGE thank you to Brooke B. from http://getchanailsdid.blogspot.com/ for adding me to her new blogs on the blog post! :-) I can't believe I already have almost 80 followers, in a little over a week! This makes me happy, and I will be doing my first giveaway soon. So stay tuned for the info.

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a few days. Things have been crazy here! We decided only a couple of days ago to take a driving trip to Steamboat Springs Colorado. We were going to leave tomorrow at 5am (ugh! I know!)so I've been rushing around like a mad woman trying to get things in order to go. Of course, our vet happens to be full this week. I refuse to leave the dogs at a new vet right now, so my parents were going to come pet sit for us. Which is awesome! I'm a planner, and I don't like last min. plans. There is just so much to do before going off on a vacation, and I was about to lose my mind. BUT I was getting there. Then today, I get a call from the stables that I need to come deworm my horse. So I had to call the vet, wait on a return call etc...Meanwhile, one of my cats starts throwing up, and I find out from our dog and cat vet, that our beagles blood tests were off, and he needs meds. Oh! and I have an earache. I don't think I've had one of those since I was eight. Finally, I told my husband, that I just couldn't go until Fri. or Sat. Luckily, he was understanding, and so was work. So we are now leaving Sat. for a MUCH needed vacation. So that's why I've been MIA. One good thing to happen today....I got my Lippmann Collection All that Jazz set!! I didn't think it was supposed to get here until sometime next week, so that was a much needed surprise. I finally managed to get some down time tonight, and got some swatches of them.

First up is Razzle Dazzle. It has lots of berry colored and deep pink glitter, in a dark berry colored base. I did three coats, and application was great. Super pretty color!

Next is Lady Sings The Blues. I'm thinking this one is going to be a huge hit. It's a dark, inky jelly with regular and hex glitter. I only needed two coats of this one. Again, application was great. This polish is pretty much a blue version of Lippmann's Ruby Red Slippers. Love, love, love this color! :-)

The third one of the set is Some Enchanted Evening. It has salmon colored regular and hex glitter, in a clear base. It looks ok alone, but would be much better as a top coat.

I also ordered Sarah Smile which is a light pink color. I usually don't go for colors like these, but for some reason I really liked this one. Plus my mom's name is Sarah. :-) Here is Some Enchanted Evening layered over Sarah Smile.

One last pic. of Sarah Smile alone.

That's it for tonight. I'm going to get off of here, and go get some much needed sleep! I hope you all have a good night. :-)

Close up of the different styles I did.

It was pretty simple, but I'm happy with it. It's the first mani/art I've done myself in years, so it needed to be simple. lol!

Just for the heck of it, here's a pic. of last year's July 4th mani. This is when I still had acrylics.

If you made it this far, thanks for looking! I got a little pic. happy tonight. Again, I hope you all have a wonderful 4th! Have fun, and be safe!
