Flakie Halloween/Fall Mani. (For real this time!)

UGH! I've been in the middle of typing this up three times now, and all of the sudden, it just posts. So annoying! Anyway, here we go again. LOL!


Good morning! How has your weekend been so far? Mine's been good. :-) Yesterday, we had family pics. taken with aunts,uncles,cousins,parents and my grandma. It was fun to get together for it. I took some yummy Halloween cupcakes and Apple Cider. The weather was nice, so we were able to have the pics. taken outside by the trees that have changed to the fall colors. I think they will turn out well. :-)

I have a fall/Halloween mani. to show you today. I started out with a black creme polish by Blue Cross. It was one of the cute little pumpkin polishes, which I will show you more of tomorrow. ;-) I then added a Colorama flakie by Maybelline, named Shimmer Girl. Now, I know there are several flakie polishes out there, and I have a few of them. However, I think that Shimmer Girl beats all of them. If only they still made it! It has the same orange/green/golden yellow flakes that the others have, but there is just something about this one that makes it better. In my opinion anyway. ;-) I just love it, and I so want to get my hands on another bottle or two.....or five. LOL! I was really lucky to find this one. I was in a dollar store, in an outlet mall and spotted this lone polish for only $1! I grabbed it up as fast as I could. ;-)

I also added pumpkin stickers by Joby to my ring fingers. Then, I decided to see what it looked like matte. I usually love matte flakies and glitter, but for this mani. I like it better shinny. I ended up putting topcoat over the matte, to make it shinny again.

Maybelline Cool Couture for fall.

Happy Saturday! :-) I can't believe it's the weekend again! The past week kinda flew by for me. I'm sorry I haven't posted since Wed. So, do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing yet. I def. think I'm going to have a nice, long nap today. I tried to sleep in, but the city is working on our street. I guess they decided that it would be fun to start up at 6am on a Sat. morning! Ugh.

Today, I have one of the new Maybelline polishes from their fall collection to show you. Normally, I don't pick up Maybelline. For some reason the colors never excite me, but they really stepped it up on this collection. I got five of them! I found them at Bed Bath and Beyond, and they were $2.99 each.

The first one I'm going to show you, is called Cool Couture. It's a smoky gray cream with lots of blue shimmer! The blue shimmer makes this a pretty unique polish. I don't have anything like it. I have grays and blue shimmers. Just not together. Application was pretty good. It polish was a little runny, but the color is so nice, that I can def. overlook that part. I used two coats.

I def. recommend clicking on these pics. to get a good look at the blue shimmer. Especially the second pic. ;-)

Sweet Tooth for Pink Wed. plus glitter,flakies and a matte.

I did a pink mani. today for pink Wed. I started out using another polish I got from jaybird, called Sweet Tooth. I love this polish. I only got the small size, but I love it so much, I think I'm going to have to order a big one. :-) Sweet Tooth is a bright pink creme with red glitter, and small orange flakies. It's a really unique polish. Application was wonderful, and I used two coats. I could have def. gotten away with one though. I unfortunately, messed this gorgeous polish up with my top coat. The tc was thick and caused bubbles. I didn't want to start over though, so I ended up layering it again. I added some more red glitter using CND Sparkle, which is red glitter in a clear base. I then added a layer of Maybelline Colorama Shimmer Girl on top. I didn't stop there. I love how flakies look with matte, so I added Essie's Matte About You on top. I am def. going to have to do another mani. with just Sweet Tooth, so that I can show you better pics. of it alone. It is seriously my new fav. pink. :-)

My Goldfish Mani. ;-) Essence,Colorama flakies and a Matte.

Good evening! Wow, it's almost midnight here. I'm tired, and I've had a couple of glasses of wine, so I hope this makes sense. LOL! ;-)

I started out with essence What Do U Think? It is a med. Peachy orange color. There are actually two versions of this color. One is a cream, and the other has gold shimmer in it. The cream is a bit darker. I have both. I decided I wanted to wear the one with the shimmer in it. Well....I had them sitting side by side, and I ended up using them both. By accident. I started out with the polish that has the shimmer in it, but when I went to do my second coat, I guess I grabbed the wrong one. I noticed AFTER I had painted three nails that it looked darker,and I couldn't see the shimmer. LOL! So, I just decided to go with the cream. I didn't feel like taking the polish off and starting again. So, the version I'm going to show you is the darker peach/orange color. I ended up using three coats. It was a little thick, but it evened out okay.

I liked it just fine, but I had wanted shimmer today. So, I added a coat of Maybelline Colorama Shimmer Girl on top. Shimmer Girl is a wonderful flakie. It has bright orange,light orange and teal flakes in it. I love this polish. I found it in an old beauty supply shop for only a dollar. After I added SG on top, I decided to matte it with Essie's Matte About You. When I was done, the colors reminded me of goldfish. :-)

Essence What Do You Think? By itself. This one is said to be a dupe for Chanel Orange Fizz. I can't say for sure, as I don't have Orange Fizz, but quite a few people On MUA have said it's pretty close.

Sunset Prisms and Horned Devil

It's Monday again....ugh. lol...Did everyone have a good weekend? I hope so! Yesterday I did my nails with Maybelline Sunset Prisms. It's a really pretty orange color with flashes of green. I like it on it's own, but it applied a bit streaky. I had already applied three coats, and didn't want to mess with it anymore. So I went looking through my stash to see if I had a glitter to top it off. I decided on BB Couture Horned Devil which is one of my all time fav. polishes. It's an orange jelly with orange and gold glitter. I seriously love this polish. I think I might need a backup bottle. Speaking of BB Couture, do they usually put out a fall collection? I'm ready for some new BBC polish! :-) Anyway, I put one coat of Horned Devil over Sunset Prisms, and I quite like it. :-) These pics. were once again taken before clean up. It was getting cloudy, and I wanted to hurry.
