New Icing Glitters....swatches and review...Part 1

Good morning! Today's post is going to be a long one.....I have lots of pics. to show you. I was in Icing the other day, and found new glitters! They have so many good glitters there, it's crazy! I got several, and actually left some behind. I'm sure I'll get them eventually though. ;-) As always they were buy one get one 50% off. I don't think that ever changes, and I hope it never does! ;-) While I was there, the girl checking me out, happened to mention that they are getting Magnetic polishes within the next week! I'm so excited to try them out. I don't have any magnetics yet, but I've wanted some forever! I'll def. be grabbing them when I see them. ;-)

Okay, on to the pics! :-) (by the way, click on the pics. for a much better view of the glitters)

Written in the Stars-a clear base with a blueish tint, it has med. round holo pieces, and blue holo stars. Application was good, but you do kind of have to pick the stars out. They are a little hard to get, but not terrible. I've def. had worse, and this polish is so pretty, it's worth it. I layered it over another Icing polish. This polish doesn't have a name, and it came in a cube with four minis. It's a med. blue with lots of silver shimmer. Application was great. The formula was a bit on the thin side, so I used three coats.

The mini. blue polish without a name....I really wish it had a name, and a full sized bottle. I really love this polish!

Next is my fav. of them all....After Party. AP is made up of multi colored shreds of glitter. I def. don't have anything like it. At all. I was a little worried about how this one would apply. I was afraid it would stick up or be rough, like some bar glitters are. However, it applied wonderfully, and completely smooth. I was really surprised. I applied two coats over Finger Paints Black Expressionism.

Last, but not least, is Birthday Beyotch....ha,ha...love the name! ;-) BB is made up of multi colored, small and med. sized round glitters. I know we've all seen this one before, but I just can't seem to pass up a multi colored glitter....plus the name kinda rocks. ;-) I applied two coats of BB over Revlon Jelly. Jelly is a bright pink jelly. I think it might be my fav. pink jelly. Application was great, and I only needed two coats for it to be opaque.

Whew! That was a lot of pics. to post! What do you think about these new glitters? Do you plan to pick any of them up, or have you already? I'm really loving them...Icing does know how to make a good glitter polish. ;-) I will have Part 2 for you in the next few days or so.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you have a great Sunday! :-)

End of Summer Mani.. and Dolphin Glitter!

Good afternoon! Since it's labor day, that pretty much means the end of summer to me. We are having gorgeous fall like weather here, and I LOVE it! Fall is my absolute fav. time of year. I love pretty much everything about it. The odd thing? This year, I'm sorta sad to see the summer go. I'm not sure why, but it just seems like it really flew by this year. I decided to do an end of summer mani. It's okay, but I had such better visions of it in my mind. Do you ever do that? Have a great mani. planned in your head, but then you actually do it, and don't really like it? Hate that! That's kind of what happened with my mani. today.

I wanted to do a beach theme, but the sand color I used, turned out to look more like really went sand, and the stickers I used, don't want to stick so well. The glitter I used covered some of my dolphin glitters, and I guess I really just want to take it off. LOL! I'm going to try to be patient, and leave it on though. Until tomorrow. If I can stand it. ;-)

I used Lise Watier Blue-Tiful,Lise Watier Ile Deserte,PA AA01, and Joby nail stickers. Blue-Tiful is a pretty blue glass fleck shimmer and application was great. I did use three coats to get it opaque. Ile Deserte is a carmel color with gold and copper glitter. Application was great, and I used two coats. PA AA01 one is a really cool glitter. It has dolphin and star glitter pieces, mixed in with small blue glitter and med. sized silver glitter.

Let me know what you think of it. I kinda like it, but like I said it's not what I wanted it to look like. Kinda looks like a hot mess on my nails! LOL!

Click to see the dolphin glitter....it's the best part of the mani. ;-)

Here are the two Lise Watier polishes before the stickers and glitter.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you are having a great Labor Day! :-)

Stars and Stripes Shattered Mani.

Good morning! Today, I have the second of my three 4th of July manis. to show you. First I started out with a new polish from Claire's called Epic Winning. This is a gorgeous blue, teal and holographic glitter. It applied very well, dried fast and was opaque after three coats. On top of Epic Winning, I applied a coat of OPI Red Shatter. It applied/shattered really well. Much better than the first time I used it. I think the key, is to wait until the base polish is completely dry, and then add a thin coat of the shatter. Lastly, I added stars from another Claire's polish called Starstruck.

Pics. of the completed mani...

Without the stars...

Claire's Epic Winning on it's own.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you are having a great Sunday! :-)

Multi Shapes Glitter Mani.

Good evening! Have you had a good weekend? Mine was pretty good. Yesterday, hubby took me to Dave and Buster's for my birthday. I had never been before, and had a great time. :-) I've pretty much done nothing today, and it's been quite nice. ;-)

The mani. I'm showing you tonight is the one I wore yesterday to D&B's. I used seven different polishes. I started out with one thick coat of Essie Marshmallow, a squishy white. I then added one coat of Ulta Pinata-Yada-Yada, a multi colored/sized, glitter. Next, I used one coat of Love My Nails, All That, a purple, blue, and silver square glitter in a clear base. Then Sally Hansen In The Spotlight, a hologram bar glitter. After that, I added a few colored stars from Dear Laura pa AA03. Next, I added one coat of Love My Nails Pot O' Gold, diamond shaped glitter with regular gold glitter. Finally, I added a coat of Essie Matte About You, and I was done! I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but I ended up loving it! It was not thick at all for using so many polishes, which is what I was worried about.

First two pics. are with the matte top coat.

Close Up.

The next two pics. are without the matte top coat.
