Barielle A Bouquet For Ava

I hadn't planned on making this my mani. today, but I'm glad I did. It's such a nice color. I have been reading, that it is a close dupe to MAC's Morning After, which is one of three polishes in the new MAC Alice+Olivia collection. I decided that out of the three polishes in the collection, that I really like Morning After and So Rich So Pretty. The collection came out today, so I decided to run to the mall and check them out. I wanted to see how close A Bouquet For Ava really is to Morning After in person. So I decided to do my nails in ABFA before going to the mall. I've had this polish since it came out, and have never used it. I have no idea why, as I really like it. So, I did my nails, and was off to the mall. I got there, and couldn't seen the collection out anywhere. I asked about it, and the people at the MAC counter had no idea what I was talking about! Come to find out, the Alice+Olivia collection is limited to MAC stores and online only. Ugh. So no MAC polish for me today. The trip wasn't a total waste. I did pick up Chanel Paradoxal. My first Chanel polish. They are quite pricey, but I just couldn't seem to pass this color up. It's so unique, and it's selling fast. I might still order MAC So Rich So Pretty. I haven't decided yet. I am going to pass on Morning After, as I did see swatches compared to A Bouquet For Ava, and they are a close match.

Barielle's A Bouquet For Ava is a pretty creme polish. It's a dark turquoise color, and described by Barielle as a cool Caribbean blue. The formula is wonderful. It was pretty opaque in one coat, but I still used two.

Lippmann Collection 'All That Jazz' Swatches!

Wow! Welcome to my new followers, and a HUGE thank you to Brooke B. from http://getchanailsdid.blogspot.com/ for adding me to her new blogs on the blog post! :-) I can't believe I already have almost 80 followers, in a little over a week! This makes me happy, and I will be doing my first giveaway soon. So stay tuned for the info.

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a few days. Things have been crazy here! We decided only a couple of days ago to take a driving trip to Steamboat Springs Colorado. We were going to leave tomorrow at 5am (ugh! I know!)so I've been rushing around like a mad woman trying to get things in order to go. Of course, our vet happens to be full this week. I refuse to leave the dogs at a new vet right now, so my parents were going to come pet sit for us. Which is awesome! I'm a planner, and I don't like last min. plans. There is just so much to do before going off on a vacation, and I was about to lose my mind. BUT I was getting there. Then today, I get a call from the stables that I need to come deworm my horse. So I had to call the vet,wait on a return call etc...Meanwhile, one of my cats starts throwing up, and I find out from our dog and cat vet, that our beagles blood tests were off, and he needs meds. Oh! and I have an earache. I don't think I've had one of those since I was eight. Finally, I told my husband, that I just couldn't go until Fri. or Sat. Luckily, he was understanding, and so was work. So we are now leaving Sat. for a MUCH needed vacation. So that's why I've been MIA. One good thing to happen today....I got my Lippmann Collection All that Jazz set!! I didn't think it was supposed to get here until sometime next week, so that was a much needed surprise. I finally managed to get some down time tonight, and got some swatches of them.



First up is Razzle Dazzle. It has lots of berry colored and deep pink glitter, in a dark berry colored base. I did three coats, and application was great. Super pretty color!





Next is Lady Sings The Blues. I'm thinking this one is going to be a huge hit. It's a dark,inky jelly with regular and hex glitter. I only needed two coats of this one. Again, application was great. This polish is pretty much a blue version of Lippmann's Ruby Red Slippers. Love,love,love this color! :-)







The third one of the set is Some Enchanted Evening. It has salmon colored regular and hex glitter, in a clear base. It looks ok alone, but would be much better as a top coat.



I also ordered Sarah Smile which is a light pink color. I usually don't go for colors like these, but for some reason I really liked this one. Plus my mom's name is Sarah. :-) Here is Some Enchanted Evening layered over Sarah Smile.

4th of July Mani.

Happy 4th of July to all of my American followers! I hope you have a good,fun and safe day! What plans do you have for today? We're having a big BBQ at our house,swimming and then fireworks. This is going to be a short one, as it's late and I'm super tired. I wanted to share my 4th mani. I took quite a few pics. in different lighting, so get ready for some pic. spam! ;-)

I used Orly Red Carpet,OPI Alpine Snow,Lippmann Happy Birthday,Orly Royal Navy,holo stars from Hot Topic, and Seche Vite top coat.

It was pretty simple, but I'm happy with it. It's the first mani/art I've done myself in years, so it needed to be simple. lol!

Orly Plastix Collection

Today I have the Orly Plastix collection for you. I know it's supposed to be a fall collection, but I picked them up about a month ago. I got them at Ulta. When I first heard about this collection, I was really excited about them. I scooped them up as soon as I saw them. I'm not a huge fan of mattes, unless they are glitter. Hearing that these would be like shinny mattes intrigued me. They sounded really cool. I don't love them or hate them. I do like them ok. I will wear them. Especially a couple of the colors. Application was a bit tricky. All were three coats, and still a little streaky. Because of the finish, they will pick up any tiny imperfection on the nail. To me, they almost seem rubbery. For some reason, they remind me of the texture of balloons.

Hidden Treasure & BB Couture Cosmopolitan

Happy Friday everyone! How has your day been? Good, I hope. I'm happy to say, that I already have 40 followers! Welcome to ALL of you! I'm happy to have you along. :-) My day has been pretty good. Had to take the dogs to the vet this morning for their yearly shots,blood work etc...They were not happy dogs. :-( Everything went very well though, and they have been napping since they came home. Poor pups wore themselves out being anxious. Here are my babies...Napa is the black lab. and Buster is the beagle.


I love them so. :-) They are my babies, along with my two cats and horse. Anyway, came home from the vet, and decided to go have a pedicure. It was quite nice, and I had my toes done in Zoya Nidhi. Such a pretty sparkly red. Got home, and the husband and I went out for ice cream. When I got home, I was bored, and decided to put a coat of SH Hidden Treasure over my mani of BB Couture Cosmopolitan. It turned out pretty well. Of course I had to take pics. so here they are....

BB Couture Cosmopolitan

My mani today, is one of the new colors from the BB Couture Cantina Nights collection. It's also the first non glitter BBC polish I've tried, and I am pleased with it. Cosmopolitan is a deep raspberry, with silver shimmer. In the right light, I also pick up a bit of red shimmer. It applied wonderfully, and I could have gotten away with only one coat, but I did two anyway.

Four new Sinful Colors

Good afternoon! Welcome to all of my followers! Thank you so much for deciding to follow. I can't tell you how happy it makes me! :-) I know my nails are pretty crappy right now, but they are getting there. Believe it or not, they are a lot better than they were. After having the acrylics on for so many years, they weren't in the best shape once they were off. There are days, I have to fight myself not to go back to them, but then I remind myself how much better my hands feel without them on. As you will be able to see from the pics. I'm posting today, my cuticles are a mess! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have been using OPI oil and Burt's Bees cuticle balm. Twice a day. If anyone has any tips on how to make them better, I'd love to hear them.

Today, I have four new polishes from Sinful Colors to post. They are new to me anyway. Not sure if they are brand new, but I don't recall seeing them before. I almost didn't get them, as I've had some trouble with SC application. However, I was at Walgreens this morning, and saw that SC nail polish was on sale for 99¢ I then saw the new colors, so I grabbed four of them.

The application was quite good, and all are two coats.

Cream Pink. I'd call this more of a hot pink color than it looks in the pics. For some reason I had trouble getting the brightness of it. It dried super fast, and looking like a matte color. This is with a top coat.



This pic. you can kinda tell it's more of a hot pink.


Rise and Shine. Again, this dried as a matte. It looks more mint in the pics. than it actually is. This is with a top coat.



All Mighty is my fav. of the four. It is a deep sea blue with micro fine blue glitter. Really pretty.



Let's Talk is a deep purple with almost a metallic look to it. This is my second fav. of the bunch.


Even though this next pic. is a bit blurry, it's truest to color.
