Fireworks Mani!

Happy Saturday!!! :-) Do you have any plans for today? Hubby and I are going to dinner, and to see Larry Crowne....the new Julia Roberts/Tom Hanks movie. I'm sure I'll like it, as I LOVE JR.

I am SO behind on posting! I have at least 15 manis. to show you in the next couple of weeks or so. Since it's the 4th weekend, I'm going to show you my fireworks mani. that I have on today.

I started out with two coats of Wet'n Wild black creme as my base. Then I put one coat of Kleancolor Fireworks on top. Fireworks has small gold glitter and gold, red and blue hex glitter. I added a couple of stars to each nail, using a polish from Claire's called Starstruck. SS is in a clear base with small gold glitter and holo stars. Of course I had to see what it would look like matte, so I added a coat of Essie's Matte About You.

It really does look like fireworks! ;-)

First two pics. are of the matte version.

The last two pis. are without the matte top coat.

I can't decide if I like with or without the matte best. I like it both ways! :-) Whatever you are doing today, I hope you have a great sat!

China Glaze Grape Pop,Zoya Vegas Freeze,Claire's Magic and a crackle.

Happy Saturday! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? Today, I have my final post of the seven days of purple that I did. I have to admit, I'm ready to wear some different colors, besides purple now. ;-)

First up is Claire's Magic. This is one of my very fav. colors from Claire's. It's a purple base with a gorgeous pink shimmer. Application was pretty good. The first coat was pretty sheer and streaky, but after I added the second it was fine. This was two coats.

I noticed after I put my topcoat on, there were some bubbles. I can't stand that! I didn't want to redo my mani so I added a coat of China Glaze Crushed Candy on top. Not purple I know....but hey, it was still purple underneath! ;-)

Next up is China Glaze Grape Pop. This is my fav. purple cream ever. Application was great, and I used two coats.

I then added a coat of Zoya Vegas Freeze on top of Grape Pop. Vegas Freeze is an awesome layering polish. It kind of reminds me of the CND Effects polish. It has very similar shimmer pieces, as they do. I'm not sure, if I'd call them flakies or just shimmer. There are several colors....blue,green,lavender and of course purple. I really like it.

Whew! I'm done with the purple for now. It's tough to wear just one color for awhile. I like variety! I'm actually still wearing the purple I got from jaybird though. I can't bring myself to take it off, as I love it so much! :-)

Anyway, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! :-)

New Blue Holo from Claire's! Bright Skies

So, did you survive Halloween? :-) I still feel like I'm in a candy coma! LOL! We had over 200 trick or treaters last night, and still have lots of candy left! I need to get rid of it, so I stop eating it! lol....It was a fun night.

Today, I have on a new blue holo from Claire's. It's called Bright Skies, and I LOVE it! :-) It's a jelly sky blue with lots of blue and holo silver glitter. I used three coats and application was great. This polish is SO sparkly! I can't stop looking at my nails! :-)

A few darker pics. to show of the holo

I also bought a silver holo, and will be posting pics. of it in the next day or two.

Claire's Chunky Purple

I've had this polish along with the Chunky Blue and Chunky Pink for over a year. I totally forgot I had them, and have never used them. I was going through my polish trying to weed out dupes when I found them again. They are pretty cool....not so sure about the name though. I mean Chunky?! Seriously...I would think they could have thought of something better. lol...Anyway, this was three coats of CP. It's really more of a violet color than straight purple, with purple glitter and silver hex glitter. It applied surprisingly well. I didn't really have to mess with the hex glitter at all. Usually I do with these kind of polishes.

Claire's Technopop

You know those layered polishes Claire's has? The ones that say DO NOT SHAKE on the top of them? The ones that everyone shakes, because they say DO NOT SHAKE? The ones that always just look meh? Yeah those. For years, I've thought about trying one out. I pick one up, look at it, check the brush and always put it right back. Well, the other day, I stopped in Claire's to check out the mood polish. As always, they had these layered polishes. This time however, one caught my eye. It of course, had already been shaken. I checked the brush, and it had this really cool purple/dark gray glitter color. Since they were also having a sale, I finally decided to go for it and get it. Turns out, these are really cool polishes! Well, the one I got is anyway. I actually grabbed two of them. One for my upcoming giveaway that I'm still gathering things up for.

This polish applied like a dream too! It took two coats, and well, I wish all polishes applied this well! I took lots of pics. in different light. Some with a BC and some without. My right hand looks more gray and my left more purple. My middle finger on my left hand has a pink tingle to it. The colors in this polish (before being shaken)were neon green, neon pink, neon blue, neon purple, and silver holo glitter.

Here are the pics...they were taken before clean up, and I also had to file my nails down last night. ;-( A couple of them were peeling, and I couldn't stand it any more. (Click on the pics. for a better look)

This is with top coat

again with top coat

Without top coat

Do you have any of these layered polishes? What do you think of them?
